Listing photos and video: what buyers need to see
Buyers need to see the actual item, rather than just an attractive image. A few considered shots are more useful than many almost identical photos.
Updated:
Start with a clear overall view
Use even lighting and a simple background. Clean the camera lens, move closer and avoid digital zoom. Show the whole item in the first photo.
Show details and defects
Photograph connections, dimensions, accessories and wear from several angles. Show scratches or damage separately and explain them in the description. Do not edit away the item’s actual condition.
Film a specific action
A video can show a device starting, a mechanism moving or a room layout. Plan an overall view, the main action and an important detail. A SEVO listing supports one video up to one minute.
Remove unnecessary personal information
Check for bystanders, documents, payment information, passwords and other unnecessary personal data in the frame. Provide relevant item identifiers through the listing’s corresponding fields.
Review it on a phone
Check the preview before publishing. Make sure details are readable, video plays and important parts are not accidentally cropped. State essential facts in the text as well.
